Through the eyes and voice of the middle daughter, we are introduced to each member of her Chinese family from Nai Nai to little Di Di. Each stanza also features the family eating a part of their meal. As the title suggests, it starts with rice and then goes through the courses and ends with fruit.
The art is perfectly adorable! It has nice, bold outlines and the gouache and watercolor add a softness that complements the fact that it’s all about happy family togetherness.
