LillyBelle enjoys many lessons and activities at Lady Frilly’s School for Damsels, except for one thing – that a damsel in distress must wait patiently for rescue. LillyBelle declares she won’t be in distress, and ends up having to put her resolution to the test.
With several repeating lines, LillyBelle reels in the listener and gets them engaged. How many times does a kid want to read about the daily, delicious, delightful tea party? At least twice a day.
The art is bright and expressive, highlighting the humor and heart of the text. We get to see LillyBelle in motion.
I love that LillyBelle enjoys her damsel school pursuits and is still a strong character who isn’t afraid to do things her own way.
Boys and girls can relate to LillyBelle who uses her skills and listens to others in order to find her own solutions and be a good friend.
